INSTRUCTOR

Joe Newton was born and raised in Paradise, California. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from BYU in Provo, UT and after a number of years in the healthcare industry, returned to school to earn his law degree. He attended McGeorge Law School in Sacramento, CA where he earned his Juris Doctorate. He is currently the head of Corporate Compliance and Privacy for a local hospital system.

Mr. Newton began his Karate training in 1994. He began teaching for his instructor, Hachidan, 8th Degree Black Belt, Pat Haley in 2004. In 2013 Kyoshi Haley promoted Renshi Newton to the rank of Godan, 5th Degree Black Belt. He also holds the rank of Shodan, 1st Degree Black Belt, in Kobudo and has earned multiple Kyu ranks in Judo and Aikido.

Renshi Joe has competed in local and regional tournament, has participated in numerous seminars and camps to further hone his skills, and volunteers as an Assistant Coach for Warren County's High School Wrestling team. He has also trained in Okinawa, Japan with Grandmaster Minoru Nakazato and plans additional trips in the future.

Renshi Joe has always loved teaching and enjoys helping his students progress and reach their goals. He is an enthusiastic teacher who is able to motivate his students and help them to bring out the best in themselves.
